Tannat (Tan-at) - historically grown in SW France, now known as the national grape in Uruguay. Tannat wines are dense, dark, spicy and tannic. Raspberry aromas, deep dark colour, big masculine wine. Full body, high acidity and alcohol, firm tannic structure. Becomes delicate with age. The bold tannins of Tannat pair well with the richness of pork, lamb, beef or game, as can strong cheese and mushrooms. Heart health and longevity.
