Lagrein a great variety well suited to the Riverland, Lagrein is a wonderful dark rich wine, deep crimson, red in colour, inky purple in glass, nose-intense juicy dark cherry, with savoury and earthy note. Palate- medium to full bodied, sour plums and dark red fruit flavours, slightly herbaceous, silky smooth persistent tannins with a tight lingering finish. Serve with food- try a Mediterranean platter, pizza with green olives and hard cheddar cheese, and juicy grass fed steak.
