Organic Agriculture is sustainable farming without the use of - artificial fertilisers, chemicals, weedicide and pesticides. Only external inputs permitted by organic certification standards. The basic aim of organic farming is to achieve optimum quantities of produce of high nutritional value without the use of artificial fertilisers and synthetic chemicals.
Bassham Organic Vineyard
Bassham organic vineyard purchased by Bassham family in year 2000 when it was a wheat farm. The family has developed this exquisite vineyard comprising of 105 acres of organic vines surrounded by 75 acres of natural flora and fauna. The vineyard is fully certified organic with NASAA certification number 5337.
Vineyard has fully automated drip irrigation throughout, installation of 3 giant, 4 blade self propelled, diesel driven, automated frost fans, for protection against severe frosts during spring.
Pruning during winter on the vineyard is perfected by mechanical pruner followed by, hand pruning for crop control and quality.
Vintage - fruit is machine harvested as well as hand picked as per client requirements. No weedicide, pesticides, herbicides, chemicals and artificial fertiliser are ever applied on the vineyard only certified organic compost is applied.
