Arinto (oh-rinn-toh) - "Queen of White Gropes; indigenous to Portugal. Known to thrive in extreme hot dry climates and still maintaining acidity through heat waves. Australian winemakers have been impressed with Arinto and its ability to produce zingy wines with citrus aromas. It is very much the new kid on the block and certainly has a mojor role in the future of Australian wine making. Arinto wine is light to medium bodied with flavours of lemon, apple grapefruit and rich peach. Producing fresh, tense and vibrant wines with a mineral profile and high acidity, with naturally good ageing potential. A great food with crunch, it pairs with rich seafood, cod, scallops, lobster, crab, salads, antipasto and brochettes.
Super wine on a hot day!
